Buying art from MAX
Sales policy
All sales are final. Every piece sold here is an original, one of a kind, and when you buy it the artist is paid. This page says what that means, how you collect your piece, and what we do if something goes wrong on our side.
Refunds and returns
All sales are final
Magnolia Art Xchange does not offer refunds, returns or exchanges on artwork bought through this website. Please look closely at the photographs, the dimensions and the description before you buy, and ask us anything you are unsure of first: every piece has an "Ask about this piece" form, and we are glad to arrange a time for you to see the work in person at MAX.
Original artwork is sold as it is. Colours can look a little different on a screen than they do on the wall, and handmade work carries the marks of being made by hand. Neither is a fault.
The exceptions
When we will refund you in full
If the piece is damaged while it is in our care, before you have collected it, or if for any reason we cannot hand over the piece you paid for, we will tell you straight away and refund the full amount to the card you paid with. Refunds usually reach your account within five to ten business days, depending on your bank.
Once you have collected a piece and it has left the building, it is yours, and its care is yours too. Please check it over with us when you pick it up.
Getting your piece
Collection is from MAX, by appointment
Artwork is collected in person from Magnolia Art Xchange, 531 NE 1st Ave, Ocala, Florida, on weekdays between 10 am and 2 pm. Straight after you pay, and in the email we send you, you choose the day and time that suits you. We do not ship or deliver at the moment. Somebody else may collect for you; tell us their name beforehand.
A piece that is hanging in an exhibition, or on loan to one of our partner businesses, stays where it is until the show closes or the loan ends. You can still buy it, and we tell you before you pay the first day it can be collected.
We will keep your piece safe until you collect it. If you cannot come within 30 days of it being ready, write to us and we will work something out.
Paying
How payment works
You pay by card on a secure checkout page run by Stripe. MAX never sees or stores your card number. The price shown is the price you pay. Magnolia Art Xchange, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is the seller; we hold your payment and pay the artist their share once the piece is in your hands. Buying a piece is a purchase, not a donation, and is not tax-deductible.
Questions about a purchase go to info@maxocala.org or (352) 629-8414. Please talk to us before you talk to your bank: we can nearly always sort it out faster.
